What Is Vihara? How the Platform Works for Buyers and Sellers

Vihara is an online platform for bank-owned and distressed real estate. Buyers come to Vihara to find a property deal, with the starting price and an estimate shown on every property. Sellers (banks, mortgage servicers and asset managers) come to Vihara because it starts every property with the buyer leads already in its own marketing database. Vihara's legal name is RL Auction Inc.

How does Vihara work for buyers?

Buyers browse properties, compare the starting price with the estimate, and register to take part. Each property page shows the address, beds, baths, size, photos and the estimate. An estimate is a guide, not an appraisal or a sale price. Financing is available through Vihara's financing partners. Find a property deal.

How does Vihara work for sellers?

Vihara starts every property with the buyer leads already in its own marketing database, so a property doesn't wait for strangers to find it. Each property then gets its own marketing in the markets where its buyers are, and every enquiry is followed up. Read how servicers can sell REO properties faster, or send us a property.

Who is behind Vihara?

Vihara is run by RL Auction Inc. and built on five generations of selling property, including more than 125 years of government and defense disposals. Vihara was founded in 2022 by Vinayak Gupta and Trisha Gupta to bring distressed property auctions online, and has a team in Silicon Valley and an office in India. The leadership team is listed at vihara.ai/leadership.
